Fred Hagstrom Professor of Art, Carlton College, Northfield, Minnesota

MFA, 1982

Fred Hagstrom works in printmaking and book arts.

He works and teaches in all of the print media:  intaglio, relief, lithography, silk-screen and letterpress. Much of his work has been in relief, often in large-scale prints from carved wood blocks or plastic plates. He has done book projects in which he's worked with students, producing editions of hand printed books that were donated to high school libraries.

Hagstrom also worked at Atelier 17 in Paris and taught at the Cleveland Institute of Art. His work is in a number of public collections, including the Minneapolis Institute of Art, the Walker Art Center, the Minnesota Museum of Art and the Weismann Museum at the University of Minnesota.
