Visiting Artist Tara Sabharwal to visit UNL Nov. 2-6

Lincoln, Neb.--The Under Pressure Print Club, with the assistance of the Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist Series, welcomes Tara Sabharwal to UNL Nov. 2-6.

Sabharwal will present a free public lecture on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 5:30 p.m. in Richards Hall Rm. 14. There will be a reception and demonstration in the Woods Art Building Rm. 303 following the public lecture.

Sabharwal was born in New Delhi, India, studied painting at MS University, Baroda (1975-1980) and completed her Masters from the Royal College of Art in London on a British Council scholarship ( 1982-84). She lives between India, the United Kingdom and New York, making paintings and prints and exhibiting internationally.

She has had solo shows in: Rebecca Hossack Galleries in London; Martina Janzen Gallery in Germany; Henry Street Settlement, and Stephen Harris Gallery, Manhattan Graphic Center in New York; Art Heritage, Samukha Gallery, and Art Alive Galleries in India. She has shown at HISHIO, Japan, Orvieto arts festival, Italy and Versailles, Chamalieres and Duoro print triennials in France and Portugal.
