Students apply for the Miller and the Oldfield Scholarships using the same application. The College's Academic Distinction and Awards Committee reviews the applications and recommends the top two for Miller Scholarships. The final decision on the Miller Scholarships is made by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. The Oldfield Scholarships are awarded after the outcome of the Miller competition is announced by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.

The Donald Walters Miller Scholarship is a university competition. To be eligible, students must be full time sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate students for the 2016- 2017 academic year in the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts. Academic excellence, recommendations from professors, honors received, professional goals, and participation in college-sponsored activities will be taken into consideration in selecting students for recommendation.
The Vada Kinman Oldfield Scholarship is a college competition. Two awards are given each year. Eligible students must be full-time juniors or seniors in the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts for the 2016-2017 academic year. Applicants must show potential, promise or talent and must have need (FAFSA form is required).
