LINCOLN, Neb.— John Bailey’s flute performance has been rescheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 31 in the Westbrook Recital Hall at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music.  The performance will also be webcast.

It will be dedicated to the flute works of 20th-century German composer Paul Hindemith (1895-1963). On the program are Hindemith’s canonic sonatina for two flutes (performed with DMA student and Hixson-Lied fellow, Nicaulis Alliey), his Eight Pieces for solo flute, and the Sonata for Flute and Piano (performed with recent DMA graduate, Janka Krajciova). The final piece will be performed as a short lecture/recital, with discussion of aspects of the piece with musical illustrations.

Dr. John Bailey is the Richard H. Larson Distinguished Professor of Music (flute) and a member of the Moran Woodwind Quintet, the resident faculty quintet at the Glenn Korff School of Music.

The performance is free and open to the public.
