Undergraduate Studio Art Competition Exhibition runs March 16-27

Lincoln, Neb.—The annual University of Nebraska–Lincoln Undergraduate Studio Art Competition exhibition opens March 16 and continues through March 27 at the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery.

The exhibition includes the artwork of 55 undergraduate students who have been enrolled in a studio art class in the Department of Art and Art History at UNL within the last 12 months.

A reception will be held on Friday, March 20 from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery, where the Jean. R. Faulkner Memorial Awards, Department of Art and Art History Freshman and Sophomore Awards, Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts Dean’s Purchase Award and Entry Fee Awards will be announced.

This year’s juror for the exhibition was Wally Mason, the Director of the Sheldon Museum of Art. Before joining the Sheldon in October, he was the director and chief curator at Marquette University’s Haggerty Museum of Art. Mason holds a B.A. degree from Beloit College and an M.F.A. from Indiana University.

The Eisentrager-Howard Gallery is located on the first floor of Richards Hall on the UNL city campus at Stadium Drive and T sts. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 12:30-4:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
