UNL Faculty Jazz Ensemble to perform in Westbrook

LINCOLN, Neb.— On Tuesday, March 29, the Glenn Korff School of Music will present the UNL Faculty Jazz Ensemble in concert in the Westbrook Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m.

The group will perform contemporary jazz pieces by John Ellis and John McNeil, and continuing in their tradition of performing new original compositions, will premiere works by Peter Bouffard and Tom Larson. Members of the group are Peter Bouffard, guitar; Dave Hall, drums; Paul Haar, saxophone; Tom Larson, piano; Hans Sturm, bass; and Darryl White, trumpet. The concert is free and open to the general public.

Comprised of some of the nation’s finest performers and educators, the UNL Faculty Jazz Ensemble drew national attention in 2010 with their appearance on the NET Television and Glenn Korff School of Music program Jazz Cabaret, which has been viewed by millions. From unique arrangements of jazz and popular standards to original works, the UNL Faculty Jazz Ensemble presents a varied and exciting program.
