Concordia String Trio to perform at St. Marks On The Campus

LINCOLN, Neb.— The Concordia String Trio will perform works by German composer Hermann Berens, a trio in the style of early Beethoven or Mozart by Polish composer Jan Kleczynski, and the String Trio by the well-known American composer Robert Muczynski at its concert on February 12 at St. Marks On The Campus at 7:30 p.m.

Members of the trio are Karen Becker, professor of cello at UNL and principal cellist of the Lincoln Symphony, Marcia Henry Liebenow, violin professor at Bradley University and concertmaster of the Peoria Symphony, and Leslie Perna, viola professor at University of Missouri and violist with the Esterhazy Quartet.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Since the Concordia String Trio formed in 1999, they have performed throughout the Midwest, given concerts and lecture/demonstrations at Tufts University, the Berklee College of Music, performed at the Tsai Center for the Performing Arts in Boston, and been artists-in-residence at the Warebrook Contemporary Music Festival in Vermont.

Capstone Records released the Trio’s recording of Alan Schmitz’s “String Trio,” and the Trio’s recording of Andrew List’s “Six Bagatelles for String Trio” is set for future release.
