Korff School faculty to present at ISME conference

A number of members of the faculty of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music will be presenting at the 2016 International Society for Music Education Conference in Glasgow, Scotland beginning Monday.

“We are proud to have so many of our faculty presenting at ISME 2016, which is the premier international conference for music educators from around the world,” said Interim Director of the Glenn Korff School of Music Peter M. Lefferts. 

They include: 

  • Dale Bazan (paper) – Fostering Independent Musicianship in Young Musicians
  • Rhonda Fuelberth (paper) – The Description and Practice of Inclusive Education in Secondary Music Education Classrooms
  • Jamie Reimer & Kevin Hanrahan (paper as part of symposium) – Reimer will present on The Creative Collaboration in the Composition of 4 Songs to Eleanora Duse by Robert Owens; Hanrahan will present on How far is too far in the composer-performance collaboration?
  • Dale Bazan (research paper) – Student Teaching Policies and Practices in the United States
  • Dale Bazan (poster) – Considering Field Experience Effectiveness in Preparing Educators to Teach in Tomorrow’s Music Classrooms
  • Brian Moore (workshop) – The Teaching of Composition in Class Settings through Digital Tools: iBooks and GarageBand as Context for Personal Music Expression
  • Brenda Wristen (workshop) – Unconventional Strategies for Small-Handed Pianists on the Conventional Keyboard.
