MFA Thesis Exhibitions open March 22
Lincoln, Neb.—Eight graduating Master of Fine Arts students in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s School of Art, Art History & Design will present their MFA Thesis Exhibitions in the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall beginning March 22.
The simultaneous solo shows will be on display in four rounds, with a new pairing of artists each week between March 22-April 16.

After carefully evaluating each element, the American Youth Musician Union recently announced its warm congratulations to University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music student Anh Le of the Honorable Award of the 2021 American Music Talent Competition for an extraordinary and inspiring performance.

Clinton presents ‘The Power of the Tritone’
Lincoln, Neb.--Professor of Piano Mark Clinton presents a piano recital titled “The Power of the Tritone.”

Join us online for Afternoon of Choirs on March 14
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Afternoon of Choirs concert, featuring the All-Collegiate Choir and the Varsity Chorus, will take place on Sunday, March 14. Due to COVID procedures, the performance will be split into two concerts with the All-Collegiate Choir starting at 3 p.m. and the Varsity Chorus starting at 4 p.m. live from Kimball Recital Hall. No in-person audiences are allowed this semester at the Glenn Korff School of Music, but the performance will be available via live webcast.

Creative technologist McMillian to speak at IGNITE March 12
Lincoln, Neb.--New media artist and creative technologist LaJuné McMillian will speak at the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts’ IGNITE colloquium on Friday, March 12.
IGNITE begins at 12:30 p.m. CT via Zoom. It is a colloquium for all Carson Center students, which involves guest lectures, workshops and seminars around creative and professional development. The event is free and open to the public and accessible at https://go.unl.edu/ignitespring.

Leggent awarded 2nd place in 2021 Young Painters Competition
Julia Leggent, a third-year Master of Fine Arts graduate student in the School of Art, Art History & Design, has been awarded 2nd place in the 2021 Young Painters Competition by the Miami University (Ohio) College of Creative Arts and the Department of Art.
“I was extremely excited to even be a part of this show,” Leggent said. “To actually get an award was surreal.”

Ceramics alumna Willers is president-elect of NCECA
Lincoln, Neb.--School of Art, Art History & Design alumna Rhonda Willers (M.F.A. 2007) is the president-elect of the board of directors for NCECA (National Council on the Education for the Ceramic Arts).
NCECA is the largest ceramics organization in the world and one of the largest visual arts organizations in the U.S. with around 6,000 members attending the national conference each year.
