The University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Glenn Korff School of Music will be launching its own podcast – Korff Kast. What will you be getting from Korff Kast?

“We hope to provide you with a never-ending supply of stories about the Glenn Korff School of Music,” said Brian Reetz, who is the Marketing and Public Relations Associate for the Glenn Korff School of Music and host of Korff Kast. “From interviews with faculty, students, alumni and others that tell about the amazing happenings in the arts quad on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus.”

Recent art grad wins Best of Show in the 2020 SECCA Student Showcase

Lincoln, Neb.--Christie Asuoha, who received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio art from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln School of Art, Art History & Design in August 2020, won Best of Show in the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art (SECCA) Student Showcase 2020.

The virtual exhibition of artworks by high school and college students in art and design fields is viewable online at https://www.seccashowcase.org. SECCA is an affiliate of the North Carolina Museum of Art.

Eisentrager-Howard Gallery opens this fall with MFA exhibitions

Lincoln, Neb.--Last spring, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln had to transition to remote learning due to the coronavirus. It meant the postponement of the April MFA exhibitions in the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall.

This fall, the gallery will re-open with those four MFA exhibitions, as well as special protocols to protect gallery patrons from COVID-19.

College welcomes 6 new faculty

Lincoln, Neb.--The Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts welcomes the following new faculty this fall:

• Ben Evjen, Assistant Professor of Practice in Graphic Design
Evjen comes to Nebraska from Utah Valley University, where he was assistant professor and program coordinator in the Art & Design Department. He has also served as an adjunct instructor at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.

36 students selected for new Carson Center cohort

Lincoln, Nebraska—Thirty-six students—26 high school students and 10 transfer students—have been selected to join the latest cohort of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts.

This is the second cohort for the center, which opened last fall.

2 undergrads earn Gilman Scholarships

Lincoln, Neb.--Two Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts undergraduates were among 30 at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln who earned Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships to support credit-bearing study abroad, internship abroad or virtual international opportunities between spring 2021 and Dec. 31, 2021.

No live, in-person audiences in recital halls for Fall semester; most performances will be webcast

Due to the continued risk of the COVID-19 pandemic, and for the safety of our students, faculty, staff and patrons, the Glenn Korff School of Music will not have live, in-person audiences for any performances during the Fall 2020 semester in our recital halls.

Most all of our Calendar of Event performance will be webcast, though, thanks to our partnership with NET. We have been having live streams for a number of years now. We have a dedicated web page for access to all of our webcasts:
