Individual tickets on sale Aug. 9 for Nebraska Rep's 50th anniversary year season
Lincoln, Neb.--The Nebraska Repertory Theatre, Nebraska’s Actors’ Equity Association professional regional theatre, begins selling individual tickets for its 50th Anniversary year season on Thursday, August 9 at 11:00 a.m.
Individual production tickets are available by contacting the Lied Center Ticket Office at 402.472.4747 or 800.432.3231 or at the ticket office window at 301 North 12th Street Lincoln NE between the hours of 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Welcome back picnic is Aug. 17
Students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the Hixson-Lied College are invited to our Welcome Back Picnic on Friday, Aug. 17 from noon-2 p.m. in the green space just south of Woods Art Building.
There will be food and beverages provided, along with entertainment and information for students on arts-specific Recognized Student Organizations (RSO's). Let's celebrate the start of the school year and kick off the 25th anniversary of the college with a fun bash. It's free, so we hope to see you there!

Carson School begins production on third Carson Film
Lincoln, Neb.--The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film began production in May of the third film in the Carson School Film Series.
“The Healing of Harman,” filmed May 9-17 in Lincoln with a cast and crew of around 75 students, faculty, alumni and professionals. The local premiere is scheduled for Oct. 27 at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center.

Carson School alum’s theatre company earns Regional Theatre Tony Award
Lincoln, Neb.--Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film alumnus Jake Denney (B.A. 2012) is the development associate for La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club in New York City, which will receive the 2018 Regional Theatre Tony Award.

Jeffery earns Alumni Association’s Early Achiever Award
Lincoln, Neb.--Independent filmmaker Alexander Jeffery (B.A./B.F.A. 2011) was the recipient of the Nebraska Alumni Association’s Early Achiever Award in May.
Established in 2011, the Early Achiever Award honors one outstanding young graduate from each University of Nebraska–Lincoln college.

Four Nebraska vocalists earn recognition at Hal Leonard North American Vocal Competition
Lincoln, Neb.--Four University of Nebraska–Lincoln vocalists earned recognition at the 8th annual Hal Leonard Vocal Competition, announced May 10. All four vocalists competed in the College/University Musical Theatre Division.
Abby Kurth, a junior voice major in the Glenn Korff School of Music, is a North American honorable mention. Kurth will be performing this summer at the Ohio Light Opera at the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio.

Retirement reception for Smith is May 2

Hixson-Lied College Alumni Winners on campus
Lincoln, Neb.--The Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts Alumni Achievement Award recipients will be in classes this week, prior to the Honors Day Awards Dinner on Sunday, April 22. The dinner is by invitation only.
The Alumni Achievement Awards honor alumni from each academic area of the college who have demonstrated outstanding achievement and overall professional excellence.
