Perry Obee

Perry Obee was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He works across multiple media including painting, drawing, and printmaking. In addition to making his own work, Perry is also a Tamarind Master Printer who collaborates with other artists to produce original works in printmaking. He has printed at numerous professional printshops including Tamarind Workshop in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Milestone Graphics in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and his own studio, Perry Obee Editions, in Asheville, North Carolina. His work is held in private and museum collections including the Slater Memorial Museum and the Print Club of Albany. He has taught at The University of Connecticut, Paier College of Art, Southern Connecticut State University, and Western Carolina University. He is the recipient of the Connecticut Individual Artist Grant in the area of painting, and a Regional Artist Project Grant from the North Carolina Arts Council for his work in lithography.
