Wesley Broulik is a New York City based actor, director, writer, movement director, improviser, and theatre maker. On stage he has appeared off-Broadway, off-off Broadway, at The Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre, tours, and regional theatres as George Street Playhouse and The Shakespeare Theatre DC (including the Helen Hayes nominated Dog In The Manger). His television and film work includes Person of Interest, Law & Order: SVU, Six Degrees, The Onion News Network, Guiding Light, As The World Turns, Experiment 7, and Three Backyards (Sundance Award Winner: Best Director). In commercials and voice over his work has been a part of campaigns ranging from Nike to ESPN.
As a playwright, director, and movement director his work has been seen on various stages around NYC and across the country. He is a former artistic director of the NYC based company Dark Luna.
He created UNL’s education abroad program in residence at Shakespeare’s Globe/Globe Education in London and his recent professional work on stage has been focused on Shakespeare, new forms for classic stories, as well as greater inclusivity and making room for all people in early modern texts. He has spent the past four seasons with Saratoga Shakespeare Company in NY as an actor and director which has been producing professional Shakespeare on Equity contracts for 18 years and is an artistic staple of that region.
Interest in ensemble, devised, and company-created work has brought him to Tectonic Theatre Project to learn Moment Work as a student of Moisés Kaufman and is a certified teacher with the National Michael Chekhov Association. Broulik holds an MFA in Acting from Rutgers University - Mason Gross School of the Arts and a BA from The University of Iowa. He has previously taught at Rutgers University, Virginia Commonwealth University (where he produced the web series Imaginerapy), University at Albany (SUNY), and Rutgers University.
