Brian Reetz is the Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator for the Glenn Korff School of Music. In his role, he writes press releases about upcoming Glenn Korff School of Music events as well as stories about faculty, students and staff. He also runs the Glenn Korff School of Music social media accounts for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. He oversees the design of the Calendar of Events, Undergraduate and Graduate brochures, posters and the media advertising plan. 

Brian graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a News-Editorial degree in 1991. He was the sports editor and managing editor of the Dodge City Daily Globe for nearly 10 years before returning to Lincoln to work in the Lincoln Journal-Star Sports department. He was editor of a local life style magazine and also worked at a non-profit. He has also been a volunteer for Make-A-Wish, a volunteer with the Alzheimer's Association, as well as other community boards including the Pioneers Park Nature Center. He currently serves on the advisory board of the Heartland Chapter of the Parkinson's Foundation. 

At the University, Brian has taught JGen300 since the Summer of 2008.

What do you enjoy the most about being on the staff at the Glenn Korff School of Music?

Reetz: It’s a pleasure to work alongside the faculty to help showcase all of the events that we offer to the community. It’s fun to interact with the students  about their goals.


What do you want others to know about the Glenn Korff School of Music?

Reetz: It’s a great place to come and be a part of. We offer a ton of events that reach out to everyone from small groups to large groups; from vocal to instrumental; from faculty to students. There are many events that everyone can enjoy.


What are you most proud of in the area you work for the Glenn Korff School of Music?

Reetz: The staff is like a small family. We are willing to do anything to make the Glenn Korff School of Music a place that makes people feel at home.


What do you like to do outside of the Glenn Korff School of Music?

Reetz: I like to spend time with family and friends, as well as, running and reading.
