Oklahoma’s Burns presents lecture April 23
Lincoln, Neb.--Emily C. Burns, director of the Charles M. Russell Center for the Study of Art of the American West and associate professor of art history at the University of Oklahoma, will deliver a guest lecture on Tuesday, April 23 at 5:30 p.m. in Richards Hall Rm. 15 on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln campus. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Burns’ lecture is titled “Building Black Histories and Futures Through Diorama: Architectural Models on Exhibition, 1900-1940.”

Pinnell earns NCECA Fellow of the Council Award
Lincoln, Neb.—Pete Pinnell, professor of art in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s School of Art, Art History & Design, received the 2024 NCECA Fellow of the Council Award.
The NCECA Fellow of the Council Award recognizes individuals who have made an outstanding contribution through service to the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA).

Final MFA Thesis Exhibitions open April 15

Musical connection makes upcoming LSO concert special for Clinton
Lincoln, Neb.--Glenn Korff School of Music Professor of Piano Mark Clinton will perform Brahms’ “Piano Concerto No. 1 in D Minor,” one of Brahms’ most beloved pieces, with Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra (LSO) on Friday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

Registration open for Future Husker University
Lincoln, Neb.--Registration for the seventh annual Future Husker University on July 12 is now open.
Future Husker University, hosted by the Nebraska Alumni Association, is an immersive and interactive Husker experience on campus for any future Husker, ages 7-13, and their families. The Nebraska Alumni Association has welcomed Nebraska alumni and fans through this experience since 2018.

Art senior illustrates children’s book
Lincoln, Neb.--Natalie Leininger, a senior art major originally from Princeton, New Jersey, is the illustrator of the fourth title in the Night Buddies series, “Night Buddies and Evil School Bus #264” by Sands Hetherington.
The series, for middle-grade readers, includes goofy, surreal, action-packed adventures with characters ranging from red crocodiles to cheesecake-making giantesses.
Leininger learned about the opportunity through a family friend.
