Fritz releases book with photographs that explore world’s largest enclosed landscapes
Lincoln, Neb.--Professor of Art Dana Fritz’s photographs explore the world’s largest enclosed landscapes. A new book on the series, “Terraria Gigantica: The World under Glass,” (University of New Mexico Press) has recently been published.
Fritz will present a public lecture at 5:30 p.m. followed by a book signing on Thursday, Nov. 2 at Sheldon Museum of Art.
Fritz began thinking about the project after visiting several Victorian glasshouse conservatories, such as the Kew Gardens in England.

Nebraska National exhibition continues through Oct. 20 at Eisentrager-Howard Gallery
Lincoln, Neb.—The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s School of Art, Art History & Design is hosting the sixth annual Nebraska National Undergraduate Juried Art Exhibition. The exhibition features the work of the best undergraduate student artists from across the country.
Nebraska National continues through Oct. 20 in the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall. There will be a reception on Friday, Oct. 6 from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery with the awards announced at 6 p.m.

Hoff's excavation in Turkey yields light industrial finds
Lincoln, Neb.—Three additional kilns were uncovered this summer at the Antiochia at Cragum excavation in Turkey this summer, bringing the total to six kilns. The kilns, along with a previously uncovered glass manufacturing workshop, all found in the bath house area of the site, indicates the area became light industrial in nature during the late Roman Empire (5th to 7th century A.D.).
