Student art sales are Dec. 9-10

Lincoln, Neb.— The School of Art, Art History & Design is hosting the Clay Club’s Fall Sale and Raffle and the Photo Club's Photo Sale on Dec. 9-10 in Richards Hall.

 

Hours for both sales are Friday, Dec. 9 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 10 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Both sales are in Richards Hall. The pottery sale will take place in Rm. 118, while the Photo Sale will take place in the conference room in Rm. 121 and the MEDICI Gallery.

Lincoln, Neb.—The Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts is seeking applications for the 20th annual Nebraska Young Artist Awards.

The Nebraska Young Artist Awards annually recognize 11th grade students from Nebraska who are gifted and talented in the areas of visual art, dance, music, theatre, and film and new media. These students exemplify the pinnacles of creativity in one of the fine and performing arts.

Carleton College's Knodell to discuss Mazi Archaeological Project in Greece

Lincoln, Neb.—Alex Knodell, an assistant professor in the Classics department at Carleton College and co-director of the archaeology program, will present the next lecture for the Archaeological Institute of America Omaha-Lincoln Society on Wednesday, Nov. 30.

 

His lecture, titled “Survey Archaeology and Long-Term History:  Crossroads and Boundaries in an Ancient Greek Borderland” will be presented on Nov. 30 at 5:30 p.m. in the Dudley Bailey Library, 228 Andrews Hall. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Lincoln, Neb.--Ceramicists Chris Gustin and Gerit Grimm will present the final lecture of the Fall Hixson-Lied Visiting Artists & Scholars Lecture Series on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 5:30 p.m. in Richards Hall Rm. 15 on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln city campus. The lecture is free and open to the public.

MEDICI exhibition opens Nov. 4; fund-raiser is Nov. 17

Lincoln, Neb.--The annual MEDICI exhibition will be on display Nov. 4-17 at the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall, culminating in their annual fund-raiser Nov. 17.

A First Friday opening reception will be held on Friday, Nov. 4 from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery. The reception is free and open to the public.

The exhibition previews the works available for the art sale and silent auction at the fund-raising event. Art by Nebraska-educated and supporting artists will be sold to purchase new equipment and improve facilities in the School of Art, Art History & Design.
