Ian is a member of both the Performance and Theatre Studies faculty, teaching a variety of classes including Acting, Stage Combat, Scripts in Production, and Renaissance Theatre. His next big project is directing Ben Jonson’s El alquimista in Mexico City. He recently directed The Tempest for Capitol Shakespeare, as well as Agravio, The Three Musketeers, and Twelfth Night for the Carson School. Acting credits include As You Like It for the South Dakota Shakespeare Festival and Three Musketeers at the Black Hills Playhouse, as well as Unnecessary Farce, Vino Veritas and Act a Lady for Nebraska Rep. His scholarship focuses on the translation, performance and history of the early modern stage, especially the interchange between the theatre of England and Spain. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for Hispanic Classical Theatre. Fight Direction credits extend across North America all the way to the Bahamas and even over to Ireland, where he has taught for the Irish Dramatic Combat Academy at the National Theatre School. Ian has a Master of Fine Arts in Acting and Directing from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a PhD in Theatre Studies from Florida State University.
