Henry to present at British Shakespeare conference
Dennis Henry, a graduate Directing for Stage and Screen student in the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film from San Diego, Calif., has been selected to participate in the 15th annual British Graduate Shakespeare Conference June 6-8 at The Shakespeare Institute at the University of Birmingham in Stratford-upon-Avon, England.

Film junior creates music videos for The Lonely Biscuits
An agreement between high school friends led to an experience of a lifetime for Dylan Adams, a junior from Omaha.
For the past couple of years, Adams, a film and new media major, has shot music videos for the band The Lonely Biscuits while being in school at the same time.

Martinez takes on theatre double-major and more
Emily Martinez, a senior from Ralston, knew she wanted to learn everything she could about the theatre after her first semester of classes.
She came to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln as an undeclared major. At the time she was debating between elementary education and theatre.

New Artists Festival closes out Theatrix season

Lighting student interviews for Hemsley internship
Aja Jackson, a senior from Bellevue, Neb., loves to dance and has a passion for lighting design. With a combination of these two, Jackson decided a few years ago to double major in dance and theatre with a lighting emphasis. Jackson’s goal after graduation is to be a lighting designer for dance and/or opera.

Theatrix opens "Gruesome Playground Injuries"
Theatrix, the student-operated theatre organization at the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film, will mount Rajiv Joseph’s "Gruesome Playground Injuries," directed by undergraduate acting major Billy Jones. Performances are March 7-9 at 7:30 p.m. and on March 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lab Theatre located on the 3rd floor of the Temple Building, 12th and R streets.

New libretto of "Candide" given regional premiere
The UNL School of Music and the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film present the regional premiere of Mary Zimmerman’s adaptation of "Candide," Leonard Bernstein’s 1956 operetta. Performances are February 21, 22 and 23 at 7:30 p.m. and February 24 at 3:00 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall, 11th and Q streets.

UNL to host regional Kennedy Center theatre festival
The Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film will be hosting more than 1,500 students and faculty from more than 70 colleges and universities from around the region at the Region V Kennedy Center/American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) Jan. 20-26, 2013, in Lincoln. It’s their first time hosting the festival in about 10 years.
Region V covers North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota and Iowa. UNL will be hosting the Region V festival in both 2013 and 2014.
