IGNITE to feature visual effects supervisor Claus

Lincoln, Neb.--Trent Claus, an award-winning visual effects supervisor with Lola VFX will be featured at IGNITE on Friday, April 22 at 12:30 p.m. at the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts. The event is free and open to the public.

Meow Wolf coming to Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts

Lincoln, Neb.--Members of Meow Wolf, an arts and entertainment company that creates large-scale, immersive art installations, will be guest artists in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts April 1-3.

Meow Wolf’s Lead Experience Designer Laika Young O’Brien and Experience Designer Max Neutra will give a public presentation at IGNITE on Friday, April 1 from 12:30-1:50 p.m. in the Carson Center, which is located at 13th and Q sts. IGNITE is free and open to the public.

Finalists announced for fine and performing arts dean

Lincoln, Neb.--The University of Nebraska–Lincoln has named its finalists for the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts dean position.

Selected through a national search, the candidates will visit campus between Feb. 28 and March 10.

Candidates will participate in multiple-day interviews with a variety of college stakeholders. Public presentations, each at 3:30 p.m. in the Lied Center for Performing Arts’ Steinhart Room, will be offered in-person and via Zoom.

Carson Center featured in HP video

Lincoln, Neb.--The Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts and its founding director Megan Elliott are featured in a new promotional video by HP.

The film shows how the University of Nebraska–Lincoln is building a world-class emerging media arts program with world-class technology from HP to push the boundaries for the next generation of storytelling.

"If you want blue-sky thinking, you need blue skies. And if you want to experiment, you need space, and we've got plenty of that," Elliott says in the two-minute video.

Lincoln, Neb.--Students in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film and Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts will host an Open Studios event on Friday, Dec. 10 from 4-9 p.m. The events are free and open to the public.
