Temple Building

Home of University Theatre at UNL since 1907, Temple houses all theatre classes as well as the administrative offices and performance spaces of the Johnny Carson School of Theatre & Film and the Nebraska Repertory Theatre. University Theatre produces four major events and four Theatrix productions each year in the facility’s three theatres, Howell, Studio, and Lab Theatres.

One of the most historic and beautiful buildings on campus, the Temple Building is home to the Johnny Carson School of Theatre & Film and the Nebraska Repertory Theatre. The building contains the elegant 317-seat Howell Theatre, two flexible black box theatres and multiple classroom and administrative spaces.

Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center

The Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center contains offices, classroom laboratories, equipment storage space, and editing suites, all belonging to the Film and New Media program. The media arts center features two screens, state-of-the-art technology, a research library and film storage archive, offices, and a concessions stand.

The Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center is home to the oldest independent film program in the state, boasting two state-of-the-art cinema screens that showcase the latest arthouse films from around the world and serve as screening rooms for film classes. The building also houses top tier editing suites for the Film and New Media program, a film research library and storage archive, offices and concessions.

South Theater

Seating 106, the South Theater is used for a variety of purposes, but in it you'll typically see esoteric fare, significant works that deserve to be screened but that don't attract larger audiences, like:
• documentaries
• experimental film and video
• and the classics

The South Theater at the Mary Riepma Ross Theatre is used for many purposes, in this case a viewing of the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson

Lied Center for Performing Arts

Completed in 1989, the Lied Center for Performing Arts is a state-of-the-art performing arts facility. The Lied serves students and residents of the entire region by bringing the world's finest arts and entertainment to its stage. It also provides opportunities for Nebraska artists to perform and a teaching/training laboratory for performing arts departments at UNL.

Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts

The Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts is located at 13th and Q streets on Nebraska's city campus, in the heart of vibrant, downtown Lincoln. The Center opens in the fall of 2019.
