LINCOLN, Neb.— The University of Nebraska Brass Quintet will perform a variety of classic brass and stage music on their upcoming concert, which will take place Monday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.

The quintet will perform one of the most outstanding brass works from the romantic era by Victor Ewald. Ewald was an avocational musician in Russia. He taught engineering at St. Petersburg High School, but was an accomplished performer on both the cello and tuba. Closing the program will be Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story Suite as arranged by Jack Gale. Joining the faculty members of the brass quintet (Craig Bircher, trumpet; Scott Quackenbush, trumpet and Craig fuller, tuba) this semester are newcomers: Ian Rutherford, trombone and Jordan Redd, horn. Both are graduate students in the Glenn Korff School of Music.

The performance is free and open to the public. This performance will also be live webcast.
