UNLSO Beethoven Project to take place 2020 through 2027
It will be quite a monumental undertaking by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music Symphony Orchestra.
What began in the Fall 2020, with the celebration of Beethoven’s 250th birthday, and continuing until Spring 2027, with the commemoration of the 200th anniversary of his death, the UNL Symphony Orchestra will perform all nine symphonies in order of their composition.

Graue’s artwork brings message of Hope to walls of Westbrook practice rooms
Over the Summer of 2020, with COVID-19 leaving all of us in search of Hope, University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music Sophomore Music Education Major Melissa Graue returned to her childhood hobby of painting since she had a lot of indoor, spare time on her hands.
“It didn't matter if I was good or not; it was a fun, calming, creative hobby I enjoyed,” Graue said. “And I knew that I had no use to keep all of my paintings for they would just take up space, so I was planning on giving them away to friends.”

Stark, many other GKSOM students successful at NATS Regional
Forty University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music student-singers won recognitions as part of the 2020 West Central NATS Regional Student Auditions Online Competition October 22 – December 5. A record-breaking 481 students entered from across the region.

Fleming collaborates on dance work video to be presented at Gold Series No. 3
Lincoln, Neb.—University of Nebraska–Lincoln Assistant Professor of Emerging Media Arts Jesse Fleming has collaborated with a team of artists on a dance work video to be presented at Gold Series No. 3 on Dec. 4-5.
Gold Series No. 3 is a performance series that includes a virtual gathering and dance event on Dec. 4 at 9pm CT and Dec. 5 at 7pm CT on a live stream via YouTube and Zoom.

Alumna Dykes undergrad honors thesis paper accepted for conference
Glenn Korff School of Music alumna Skyler Dykes recently learned that her undergraduate honors thesis paper "Civic Practice 101: A guide for the 21st-century opera professor" was accepted for online presentation at the National Opera Association annual conference.
The virtual conference is scheduled for January 4-6, 2021. Dykes will be submitting a short video summarizing her research and attendees will be able to view the video during any "poster presentation" session.

Gilbert receives 2020 Nebraska Music Educator of the Year honors
Lincoln, Neb--Danni Gilbert, associate professor of practice in music education in the Glenn Korff School of Music, has received the 2020 Nebraska Music Educator of the Year Award from the Nebraska Music Educators Association (NMEA).
Recipients of the NMEA Music Educator of the Year Award display excellence in every facet of music teaching in Nebraska. Nominees must have completed at least seven years of teaching and are currently active teaching.
