Haar to present ’Traditions for Saxophone’ in early March
LINCOLN, Neb.— Dr. Paul Haar, Associate Professor of Saxophone at The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music and pianist Christi Zuniga present a faculty recital: “Traditions for Saxophone” on Sunday, March 4 at 3 p.m. in Westbrook Recital Hall.
This concert will feature classics from the saxophone cannon including: Scaramouche by Darius Milhaud, Tableaux de Provence by Paule Maurice and sonatas by Paul Creston and Lawson Lunde.

’Shades & Colors’ to be a musical celebration of Black History

’Inspiration & Innovation’ to be explored by UNL Chamber Singers

’Sway’ Flyover performance is filled with motion in time
LINCOLN, Neb.— The Flyover New Music Series’ program, Sway, on Tuesday, February 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the Westbrook Recital Hall is filled with motion in time. Ian Whillock’s titular piece draws its inspiration from the lilting rhythms of Afro-Cuban music; Drew Firkins’ piano trilogy uses vivid colors to paint shooting stars, monster-movie chases, and tears falling down cheeks.

UNL Opera presents Così fan tutte
The Glenn Korff School of Music presents Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera “Così fan tutte” Feb. 23 and 25.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23 and 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25 in Kimball Recital Hall. Tickets are $20 adults and $10 seniors/students and are available in advance from the Lied Center Box Office at (402) 472-4747 or at the door.

The Ross, Lied Center present Q&A with composer Danny Elfman

Chang steps down from teaching to focus on Lied Center artistic director duties
Lincoln, Neb.—Following the spring 2018 semester, Associate Professor of Practice Ann Chang will step down from her teaching duties in the Glenn Korff School of Music, but is continuing her role as Artistic Director for the Lied Center for Performing Arts.
Chang said she will miss the talented students she has taught.
“I will miss the mentoring of great talent,” Chang said. “The great students give back to you 100 times. It’s been wonderful.”
