Lincoln, Neb.—The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s School of Art, Art History & Design presents the work of graduating studio art students in the Fall 2025 Studio Art Capstone Exhibition, which will run Dec. 15-19 in the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery.

This biannual capstone exhibitions are held at the end of the fall and spring semesters and present the work of each semester’s graduating Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) seniors in studio art and graphic design as a culmination of their coursework and exploration. The graphic design capstone exhibition is being held Dec. 1-5.

Regular gallery hours are Monday-Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free. A closing reception will be held on Friday, Dec. 19 from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery.

The following students are participating in this year’s Studio Art Capstone Exhibition (name, degree, primary medium, hometown):

• Lola Lafficher Agena, B.F.A., sculpture, Lincoln, Nebraska.
• Nathan Anderson, B.F.A., drawing, Omaha, Nebraska.
• Melissa Hewitt, B.F.A., painting, Ida Grove, Iowa.
• Elle Marroquin, B.F.A., drawing, Lincoln, Nebraska.
• Lim Puoch, B.F.A., painting, Lincoln, Nebraska.
• Ethan Schepers, B.A., photography, Lincoln, Nebraska.
• Carli Sorge, B.F.A., sculpture, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Sorge said the Capstone Exhibition captures a visual display of their most highly developed works throughout their time in the School of Art, Art History & Design.

“The show displays each person’s unique experience in our shared world with a wide array of subject matter and style,” she said. “For all of us, this ‘finally’ at UNL is just the beginning of each of our art careers.”

Schepers said the exhibition highlights the power of collaboration and mutual support among artists.

“This exhibition is a celebration of what can happen when artists support each other,” he said. “Our small capstone group has created a space of encouragement, critique and care, and that foundation has shaped not only the work you’ll see here, but the futures we’re building beyond it. I’m so proud of the beauty in everyone’s practice and cannot wait to share it in this exhibition.”

Hewitt agreed and said the work on display would be diverse.

“It has been a great experience to get to work with this group and talk about our ideas together this semester,” she said. “I am excited to see all of our work displayed together because everything is so diverse. The content of the work is uniquely important to each of us.”

With only seven artists participating, Anderson said this year’s exhibition offers a more expansive look at each artist’s practice.

“The seven of us have a very unique opportunity,” he said. “This is one of the smallest classes, so each of us includes lots of work with plenty of space.”
