Jeff O'Brien
Director of Technology, Carson Center for Emerging Media ArtsJeffery Carson O’Brien is the Director of Technology for the Carson Center of Emerging Media Arts. Jeff started his career in the arts as a childhood magician, at the age of four he and his brother toured throughout Illinois and appeared on local television escaping out of trunks and performing sleight of hand. By the age of 12, he was teaching magic and turned his focus to audio and technology. In 2002, Jeff received his bachelors of science from Indiana State University in communications and theatre and in 2006, he received his MFA in theatre from the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film.
To date Jeff has designed sound and control systems for a multitude of theatrical productions, commercials, films, tours, and installations around the world. His list of clients include: International Special Attractions, John G. Shedd Aquarium, Steppenwolf Theatre Company, New York Musical Theatre Festival, Bravo National Dance Competition, and most recently he served as Audio Systems Designer for the “Nerf Challenge Experience” in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and L.A. Live Event Deck in Los Angeles, California.
