British artist Clare Twomey will present a free public lecture on Monday, Nov. 11 at 5:30 p.m. in Richards Hall Rm. 15.

Twomey is a research fellow at the University of Westminster. Over the past 12 years, she has exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum, Tate, Crafts Council, Museum of Modern Art Kyoto Japan, the Eden Project and the Royal Academy of Arts.

Twomey is actively involved in critical research in the area of the applied arts, including writing, curating and making. She is one of three researchers working on an ambitious three-year project titled “Ceramics in the Expanded Field: Behind the Scenes at the Museum,” which is reexamining the role of ceramics in contemporary art, its social and cultural relevance, and the relationship between art, museums and audience.

Twomey's visit to UNL is made possible by the Hixson-Lied Endowment.
