Lincoln, Neb.--The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Wind Ensemble presents their next concert on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. in Westbrook Music Building Rm. 130 with a simulcast in Rm. 119 for overflow seating.

The concert is free and open to the public. It will also be available for remote webcast. Visit https://music.unl.edu/webcasts the day of the concert for the link.

Life in the southwest corner of campus is an adventure. Every day brings a new pile of dirt, a new concrete monolith, a new incessant beep or rumble of a drill, a new strange aroma wafting through Westbrook Music Building. Rooms immediately adjacent to one another are completely distinct ecosystems. While one ensemble is attempting to tune on the tundra at 58 degrees, another is coping in the jungle next door at 88 degrees.

Join the Wind Ensemble for a musical rendition of the roller coaster that is life in the construction zone. Our path will lead from the joy of Frank Ticheli’s “Life-Stream,” to the introspection of Roshanne Etezady’s “Against the Rain;” from Ralph Vaughan Williams inexhaustible “The Running Set,” to the quiet awe of Grace Baugher’s “Remembering the Remarkables;” from Daniel Montoya, Jr.’s quirky “Einstein on 6th Street,” to David Maslanka’s epic “California,” ending with the obstacle course that is Kimberly Archer’s “Common Threads.”

Wear layers – who knows what the temperature will be.
