Sculptor Isabel Barbuzza will present Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist Lecture March 27
Lincoln, Neb.—Isabel Barbuzza, professor in the sculpture and intermedia program in the University of Iowa’s School of Art and Art History, will present the next Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist & Scholar lecture on Wednesday, March 27 at 5:30 p.m. in Richards Hall Rm. 15. The lecture is free and open to the public.
The School of Art, Art History & Design’s Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist & Scholar Lecture Series brings notable artists, scholars and designers to Nebraska each semester to enhance the education of students.

2 exhibitions on display April 1-5 at Eisentrager-Howard Gallery
Lincoln, Neb.—The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s School of Art, Art History & Design presents two exhibitions April 1-5 in the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery.
• “Blue Horizons” showcases the work of five second-year Master of Fine Arts candidates in painting, printmaking, photography and ceramics as they delve into interdisciplinary materials.
The exhibition will have a closing reception on Friday, April 5 from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery.

Art historian Roberto Tejada is next Hixson-Lied Visiting Scholar

MFA Thesis Exhibitions open March 18

Korff School presents First Nations Choral Festival
Lincoln, Neb.--The Glenn Korff School of Music presents First Nations Choral Festival: An Evening of Music by Indigenous Composers on Tuesday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church.

2024 Nebraska Young Artist Award recipients announced
Lincoln, Neb.--The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts has announced the 80 winners of the 27thannual Nebraska Young Artist Awards.
The Nebraska Young Artist Awards annually recognize 11th grade students from Nebraska who are gifted and talented in the areas of visual art, dance, music, theatre, and film and emerging media arts.

Dominguez creates public art at Bryan to commemorate Covid-19 pandemic experience
Lincoln, Neb.--School of Art, Art History & Design Professor of Art Eddie Dominguez recently completed a two-segment public art project created for Bryan Health Systems to commemorate the community’s experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic.
A 12-foot by 22-foot mosaic mural located at Bryan East includes a cluster of clouds with words submitted by hospital staff, who were asked to reflect on their experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic.
