Dr. Marci Malone DeAmbrose is an Assistant Professor of Practice in Music Education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She has over two decades of experience in music education across diverse educational settings. Her career spans elementary, secondary, and post-secondary roles within Lincoln Public Schools, the Blue Valley School District (Kansas), the Northside Independent School District (Texas), Doane University (Crete), and Concordia University (Seward).

Her research interests encompass all formal levels of music education including the experiences of preservice music teachers in an inclusive intergenerational community choir, culturally responsive teaching strategies in the elementary music classroom, and eighth-grade students' attitudes toward singing and choir participation. She has presented her research at conferences such as the International Society for Music Education (ISME) World Conference, Music in Schools and Teacher Education Commission (MISTEC), Vision of Research in Music Education (VRME) Conference, Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA), Nebraska Music Educators Conference (NMEA), and Kansas Music Educators Association (KMEA) In-service Workshop.

In addition to her scholarly pursuits, Dr. DeAmbrose is actively engaged in service and creative activity. She currently serves as a commissioner for MISTEC, contributing to the planning of the 2024 biennial seminar in Tallinn, Estonia. Her choirs have performed at the National Association for Music Education Conference and collaborated with esteemed organizations such as the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra. Notably, Dr. DeAmbrose was honored as a semi-finalist for thev2024 Grammy Music Educator of the Year award.

She earned her Bachelor of Music Education from Baker University, her Master of Music in vocal performance, and Artist Diploma in opera performance from the University of CincinnativCollege Conservatory of Music, and her Ph.D. in Music Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is committed to advancing the field of music education by using her different experiences to promote music-making for all.
