As Global Arts Coordinator, Katia helps coordinate global activities and manage international recruitment for the college, particularly for the Global Arts Academy. She works closely with international applicants, partners, and stakeholders as a primary HLCFPA representative, and provides strategic support to college leadership, faculty, and staff.

Katia came to the Hixson-Lied College from the university’s Office of Admissions, where she worked for 7 years on the international recruitment team. She has represented UNL extensively at schools and events across China, Southeast Asia, India, and Brazil, building relationships with students, parents, and high school counselors around the world. Katia holds an M.A. in International Relations with a specialization in Culture & Politics from Leiden University in the Netherlands and a B.S. in International Studies, French, and Journalism from the University of South Dakota.
