Lincoln, Neb.—The Symphonic Band, with special guests the Twin Lakes Duo, will present a concert program titled “From Darkness to Light” on Monday, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.

“You’ll hear works by Suzanne Wieland, Katahj Copley, Alex C. Ehredt, John Mackey, Aaron Perrine and Ivan Trevino,” said Tony Falcone, senior lecturer and associate director of bands and conductor of the Symphonic Band. “The pieces on the concert are centered around themes of darkness, light and moving from one to the other. We’re excited to feature the Twin Lakes (percussion) Duo on Ivan Trevino’s ‘Run to the Light.’”
The Twin Lakes Duo includes Glenn Korff School of Music Assistant Professor of Percussion Emily Salgado and percussionist Jimmy Stagnitti. Formed in 2023, the Twin Lakes Duo strives to highlight underrepresented and living composers through their performances and commissions.
The Symphonic Band has the distinction of being the band program’s top symphonic ensemble.
