UNL Symphonic Band performs April 16

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Symphonic Band will perform a concert titled “The Stuff of Legend” on Thursday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.

The concert is free and open to the public. The concert will also be live webcast. Visit https://go.unl.edu/gksomwebcasts the day of the performance for the link.

The program includes “Tam O’Shanter Overture” by Malcolm Arnold, translated by John P. Paynter; “Háry János Suite” by Zoltán Kodály; “The Flying Dutchman Overture” by Richard Wagner, translated by Mark Hindsley; and “Angels in the Architecture” by Frank Ticheli, which features Assistant Professor of Music in Voice Suna Gunther as soloist.

The Symphonic Band is conducted by Tony Falcone, senior lecturer and associate director of bands. It has the distinction of being the band program’s top symphonic ensemble.
