GKSOM student Goulet wins prestigious percussion scholarship
Glenn Korff School of Music Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance student Chris Goulet received quite an honor that was announced recently at PASIC (the Percussive Arts Society International Convention) in Indianapolis.
Goulet won the prestigious Armand Zildjian Percussion Scholarship -- a $2,000 award that goes directly to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to offset his tuition. It’s awarded to one university student in the country each year. Goulet won this competitive award by submitting videos of his orchestral percussion playing.

Art, Art History junior earns Gilman Scholarship to study in Argentina
Lincoln, Neb.--Daniela Chavez, a junior art and art history double major with a minor in human rights from Grand Island, Nebraska, is one of 17 undergraduate students at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln to earn a Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to study abroad between Dec. 2019 and October 2020.
Chavez will study “Memory and Social Activism Through the Arts” in Argentina through the School for International Training next summer from June 22 until Aug. 2, 2020.

Carson Center Advisory Council member Su receives his third Emmy Award
Lincoln, Neb.--Bernie Su, an interactive creator and showrunner and a member of the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts’ Advisory Council, earned his third Emmy Award this fall in Outstanding Innovation in Interactive Media for Artificial.
Su is the co-creator and showrunner of the Peabody award-winning Artificial, the first live audience-interactive science fiction series to debut on Twitch. This series is a fully scripted serialized live narrative that lets the audience interact with the character while shifting the story and plot elements.

Carson Center Advisory Council member Wallworth receives Crystal Award
Lincoln, Neb.--Lynette Wallworth, an internationally acclaimed artist and director and a founding member of the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts’ Advisory Council, is one of four artists to receive the 26th annual Crystal Awards at the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, in January 2020.
She joins artist Theaster Gates, choreographer Jin Xing and actor Deepika Padukone in receiving the award.

The Moran Woodwind Quintet performance scheduled for April 8, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. has been moved to Westbrook Recital Hall. It was previously scheduled to take place in Kimball Recital Hall.
