Beyond the Classrom
IGNITE is a weekly colloquium for all Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts students, which will involve guest lectures, workshops and seminars around creative development and professional development.
The Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts will create opportunities for students to connect with professionals and leaders in the field while still in school in order to build on classroom learning and grow their professional networks.
As an undergraduate research assistant, you’ll interact closely with a faculty advisor to conduct research on a topic you propose. Together, you and your faculty advisor will draft a research abstract, outlining the expectations the faculty advisor has of you while you hold the assistantship.
Professional experience is a critical part of success for emerging media arts students. Our connection to industry will help each student land internships that will get them professional experience and networking opportunities.
Undergraduate and graduate majors in the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts have the opportunity to apply for funding support from grant programs available through the Hixson-Lied Endowment.
Artists in Residence
The Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts will have a robust artist, scientist and entrepreneur-in-residence program. These industry professionals will come for residencies of various length—from days to entire semesters.
