Lincoln, Neb.--Nebraska Steel, the university’s student ensemble dedicated to playing steel drum music, & Friends will perform on Saturday, April 26 at 11:30 a.m. in Westbrook Music Building Rm. 130. The concert is free and open to the public.
Nebraska Steel will be joined by Steel PANguins, PANgea, PAN Prep and UNLindoor for this spring concert and fundraiser.
Nebraska Steel and Steel PANguins are conducted by Assistant Professor of Percussion Emily Salgado. Aaron Mathis is the Director of PANgea, and Keygan Boesiger is the PAN Prep Director.
Nebraska Steel will perform Tracy Thornton’s “Dain Brammage,” arranged by Kenyon Williams; and Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off,” arranged by Andrew Richardson.
Steel PANguins will perform Kes’ “Savannah Grass,” arranged by C.J. Menge; and “Thunder,” arranged by Gwen Leuschen.
PANgea will perform Chris Tanner’s “Passage of Souls” and C.J. Menge’s “Pyxis.”
PAN Prep will perform “Sun Speckled” by Joshua Meutzel; and “Limbo Twish,” arranged by Michael Bento.
The Husker Mass Steel Band will perform Len “Boogie” Sharpe’s “Tobago Jam” and Farmer Nappy’s “X-Man,” arranged by Andrew Richardson.
UNLindoor will perform “Hocus Pocus,” “Stick Control,” “Shups,” “SSL” and “Etude.”
