Lincoln, Neb.--The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Wind Ensemble will perform a concert titled “Transcendentalism” on Thursday, May 1 at 7:30 p.m.
The concert will be in Westbrook Music Building Rm. 130. Seating is limited. Overflow will be in Rm. 119 with a simulcast on the big screen. The concert is free and open to the public.
The program includes Carter Pann’s “American Child;” Donald Grantham’s “Spangled Heavens;” Charles Ives’ “The Alcotts” from Piano Sonata No. 2, transcribed by R.E. Thurston; Scott McAllister’s “Gone;” and Ryan George’s “Acts of Congress.”
“Come join the Wind Ensemble as they say farewell to Westbrook Music Building and celebrate the end of another fruitful year,” Barber said. “Our closer alone (‘Willie for President’) is worth the trip.”
