Tom Kelly, trumpet, received his undergraduate degree in trumpet performance and music education at Winona State University (Winona, Minnesota.) and a Master’s degree in trumpet performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Kelly has performed with the Empire Brass, Canadian Brass, Doc Severinsen, Dallas Brass, Rhythm and Brass, Mannheim Steamroller as well as having been a member of orchestras backing performers such as Ray Charles, Steve Allen, Red Skelton, Ben Vereen, Michael Buble’, Gladys Knight, Marie Osmond, The Temptations and has performed an endless list of Broadway shows.
Kelly is principal trumpet in the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, and also Principal Trumpet and Manager of The Plymouth Brass at First-Plymouth Church in Lincoln. He also performs with the Omaha Symphony Orchestra and is a member of The UNL Faculty Brass Quintet. Tom has a private teaching studio in Lincoln and has university teaching studios throughout Nebraska.
