Three-dimensional studio practice based in research and observation. Context of ideas and meaning through transformation and manipulation of materials and processes.

Introduction to the field of visual communications. The use of the tools, materials and methods of the graphic designer.
Life Drawing (DRAW 202)
Drawing the figure from observation with a focus on anatomy, accuracy and the use of the figure in art.

Introduction to the fundamental concepts of user-centered design for web, tablet, mobile devices and screen-based media.

Survey of the history of western art from the Renaissance period to the twentieth century.

Stacy Asher, Associate Professor of Art (Typography, Publication, Exhibition and Social Design)
Using art and design as a vehicle for social justice and civic engagement, Asher designs interactive and traditional print media. Her creative work includes service to the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art - Off Site Exhibitions, and she has designed exhibitions and publications for international fine art expositions in Miami, Chicago, New York and Hong Kong.
