Lincoln, Neb.--The Glenn Korff School of Music will host the second annual Single Reed Day on Sunday, Aug. 30 from noon-6 p.m. in the Westbrook Music Building.
This free event is open to clarinet, bass clarinet and saxophone players from middle school through college, as well as music educators interested in exploring the performance and pedagogy of single reed instruments.
The event is co-hosted by faculty members Diane Barger (clarinet) and Ora Paul Haar (saxophone). Guest artists will include Nicholas May (saxophone), Jennifer Reeves (clarinet) and Lucas Willsie (clarinet).
Participants will engage in instrument-specific sessions, including All-State audition preparation for 8th grade and high school students, masterclasses and performance opportunities.

In conjunction with Single Reed Day, the Glenn Korff School of Music will also host a Flute All-State Workshop and an Oboe All-State Workshop with our two new UNL instructors, Brenna Sherman (flute, in Rm. 153) and Lindsay Wiley (oboe, in Rm. 103) from 1:30-3 p.m. in Westbrook Music Building.
