I believe that singing is what people do when they don’t know how to talk anymore.

When something is so emotional, so a part of you, so necessary to your being, it’s how it comes out.

Singing for me is really like my faith.

Sometimes it’s so hard to have trust that it’s leading you where you need to go, but ultimately it’s the root of everything. It’s visceral and it’s real and people are just searching for truth. And I think it’s the best place to find it.

If you wake up singing, if music is your life, why would you put that behind something else?

I just knew I would never forgive myself if I didn’t put a hundred percent into this.
