Spring Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist series to be presented online
Lincoln, Neb.--Twelve artists are presenting Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist & Scholar lectures this fall in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s School of Art, Art History & Design.
The School of Art, Art History & Design’s Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist & Scholar Lecture Series brings notable artists, scholars and designers to Nebraska each semester to enhance the education of students.
Each lecture will be presented via Zoom and is open to the public. Links for each lecture will be available on arts.unl.edu.

Two Nebraska ceramists selected for NCECA juried student exhibit
Lincoln, Neb.--A School of Art, Art History & Design graduate student and an alumnus were two of 40 student artists nationwide to have work accepted into the NCECA (National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts) Juried Student Show, the most prestigious and competitive juried exhibition held for students in the ceramics field.

Williams creates ‘Stay Wild’ community art project
Lincoln, Neb.--Associate Professor of Art Sandra Williams worked with students last fall at Park Middle School in Lincoln to create the “Stay Wild” community art project.
“Community-based arts have always been, and always will be, part of my creative agenda,” Williams said. “Instead of a ‘top-down’ lecture, I prefer that the community explore the role arts play in creative placemaking, have the tactile experience of handling cut paper in the form of stencils and engage with the top of animals in a creative manner.”

Students take watercolor course during three-week session
Lincoln, Neb.--Assistant Professor of Practice in Studio Art and Foundations Coordinator Byron Anway taught Beginning Watercolor I during the January three-week session. It is a course taught infrequently in the School of Art, Art History & Design, so it has proven to be popular with 40 students enrolling.

This culminating experience features documentation of capstone projects from graduating undergraduate candidates for Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degrees from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s School of Art, Art History & Design.

‘Making History’ ceramics exhibition opens Nov. 9
Lincoln, Neb.--“Making History,” which showcases the work of Associate Professor of Art Margaret Bohls’ Making History ceramics class, will be on display at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Eisentrager-Howard Gallery from Nov. 9-20.
The gallery is located in the center of the first floor of Richards Hall on the university’s city campus at Stadium Drive and T streets.
