Scholarships & Financial Assistance
More than $1 million in scholarships are awarded annually to students in the Hixson-Lied College—on top of institutional grants and aid. All incoming students who audition or submit a portfolio as part of the application process are considered for college-specific scholarships. Plus, the Hixson-Lied Endowment provides access to remarkable opportunities that set our college apart.
College-wide Scholarships
Miller/Oldfield Scholarships
Each year, the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts offers competitive scholarships recognizing excellence, potential, and financial need. Full-time sophomores, juniors, and seniors may apply for the Donald Walters Miller Scholarship, which considers academic achievement, faculty recommendations, and campus involvement. Juniors and seniors demonstrating talent and financial need can also compete for the Vada Kinman Oldfield Scholarship, which grants two awards annually.
Hixson-Lied Undergraduate Scholarships
The Hixson-Lied Undergraduate Scholarships are prestigious awards given to new, incoming, in-state or out-of-state students (freshmen or transfer). Awards are based on merit and talent. A high priority of the scholarship is increasing the diversity of the student body of the Hixson-Lied College. Scholarships are awarded for two years as long as the student is making satisfactory progress towards a degree in the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts. The current award amounts are $2,000 for in-state students and $5,500 for out-of-state students per year. All students applying for entrance to a degree program in the Hixson-Lied College will be considered for the scholarship. In some cases, a student may be asked to provide a portfolio or audition for review.
