Omaha native Katie Wychulis is principal harp of the Lincoln Symphony, Boulder Philharmonic and Sioux City Symphony. She graduated cum laude from the Cleveland Institute of Music, studying with Alice Chalifoux and Yolanda Kondonassis, and received her Master of Music degree from Rice University as a student of Paula Page. In 2001, Katie received a Fulbright grant to study contemporary harp performance practices in Australia, where she studied with Alice Giles at the Australian National University in Canberra.

Performance highlights include concertos with the Omaha Symphony Chamber Orchestra, Lincoln Symphony, Sioux City Symphony, Orchestra Iowa, Houston Chamber Players, Woodstock Chamber Orchestra, and Minot Symphony. In addition to her solo appearances, Katie has appeared as guest harpist with the St. Louis Symphony, Kansas City Symphony, Omaha Symphony, Colorado Music Festival, Britt Festival Orchestra, Canberra Symphony Orchestra, and the National Repertory Orchestra. She has been an active chamber musician with such groups as the Nebraska Chamber Players and the Omaha Chamber Music Society.

Katie has remained an active volunteer for many local area non-profits, serving on the boards of the Great Plains Harp Chapter, Omaha Chamber Music Society and Third Chair Chamber Players. She has taught harp in the Omaha Public Schools. She has given masterclasses nationwide and currently maintains a private studio in Omaha where she resides with her three daughters.
