Business Office

The Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts has created a centralized business office in the college to improve efficiency in providing business services. The business office centrally handles human resources, finance, research/creative activity administration, and other services for the college and its academic units. These include such items as payroll, PAFs, offer letters, accounts receivable and payable, purchasing, travel, external and internal grants, and more. Our goal is to provide our faculty, staff and students with better and more efficient business service and support.

Assistant Dean of Business and Finance & COO

Corey is the Assistant Dean of Business and Finance & COO in the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts. He is responsible for the operational and financial reporting systems that ensure effective and efficient business functions in the college, its departments, programs and initiatives. He will monitor college budgets, Foundation accounts, grants compliance, fund transfers and contracts.

Operations Manager

Shannon is responsible for providing and administering the business operations and fiscal administration coordination between the College, Schools, Center, and the Big Red Business Center. She works with the Assistant Dean of Business and Finance to provide visibility of state, revolving, and foundation funds. Shannon will ensure that we are developing best practices, policies, and procedures to ensure that we can continue to operate under the fiscal constraints we are facing today. 

Shannon is moving over from the Nebraska Innovation Campus Business Center, Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) where she was a Business Manager. She has 12 years of fiscal and budgetary experience within UNL. She started with UNL in March 2012 as a Financial Associate, then was promoted to a Financial Specialist position in January 2015, and her experience culminated in her taking over the NIC BC in January 2019 as the Business Manager.

Human Resources Specialist

Shelby is responsible for general human resources and payroll functions including payroll processing (bi-weekly and monthly), on-boarding and new hire paperwork, personnel actions forms (PAF’s), and visiting personnel forms. She will also assist with ESS Time entry for hourly employees and service access requests as needed.
