Cornhusker Marching Band traveling to Illinois game to perform

LINCOLN, Neb.— The 300-member University of Nebraska-Lincoln Cornhusker Marching Band will be taking to the road this weekend to perform at halftime of the Nebraska vs. Illinois football game in Champaign, Illinois.

The Pride of All Nebraska will leave early Friday morning on six buses and will stop for a 3 p.m. open rehearsal at Fort Zumwalt South High School in St. Peters, Missouri on Friday afternoon. Cornhusker Marching Band Alumni Paul Ahlemeyer is the band director at the high school. He was in the trombone leadership when he was with the CMB.

The CMB, along with 12 staff, will then arrive on the University of Illinois campus on Saturday morning. A pep band will then perform over the noon hour for the Illinois chapter of the Nebraska Alumni Association tailgate.

The Cornhusker Marching Band will be performing the Super Hero show that was performed as part of the halftime of the Southern Miss game. The band will then return on Sunday.
