One Glenn Korff School of Music staff/faculty member was honored at the 2017 Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts Honors Day/Awards dinner on Saturday, April 22 at the Champions Club.

Vocal Coach, Accompanist Michael Cotton received the staff award for outstanding service.

“Pianist Michael Cotton is an extraordinarily experienced artist whose musicianship and wide-ranging knowledge of repertoires and styles enrich the musical lives of our students and faculty at the heart of what we do every day,” said Peter M. Lefferts, Interim Director of the Glenn Korff School of Music. “His flexibility and range are remarkable. As staff accompanist for the Glenn Korff School of Music, he collaborates with singers in the studio, in auditions, and in recital---and he is equally valuable as an opera coach and accompanist for all of our musical theater productions. We are delighted that the Hixson-Lied College has honored him this year with a Staff Award.”
