LINCOLN, Neb.— Over the course of three days, the Glenn Korff School of Music’s faculty and students will present the music of award-winning composer Carter Pann.

Prof. Pann will conduct open masterclasses with student composers, conductors, and performers, and give private lessons to student composers on Monday, December 3. On Tuesday night, a program of Prof. Pann’s chamber music will also feature the world premieres of eight new piano preludes, composed and performed by GKSOM students, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.

Prof. Pann’s three-day residency will culminate Wednesday night in a 7:30 p.m. concert in Kimball Recital Hall of his music for wind ensemble, performed by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Wind Ensemble (directed by Prof. Carolyn Barber) and accompanied by new choreography from dance students and Prof. Susan Ourada. The Wednesday night concert will be preceded by a pre-concert talk with Prof. Pann, Prof. Barber, and Assistant Professor of Composition (and former student of Prof. Pann) Gregory Simon. Most events are open to the public.
