LINCOLN, Neb.— Join the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music’s Symphonic Band, conducted by Tony Falcone and Douglas W. Bush, for their season-ending program titled, Pan American Celebrations, on Wednesday, April 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.

Music from Central and Latin America will be featured including works by Paul Basler and H. Owen Reed. Professor of Flute Dr. John Bailey will also join the band for the U.S. Premiere of Tríptico para Flauta y Banda de Vientos by Doctoral Graduate Assistant, Rubén Gómez.

The Symphonic Band has the distinction of being the band program’s top symphonic ensemble. Its select mission is to provide instrumentalists with an opportunity to demonstrate and develop the techniques and musical instincts appropriate to a symphonic setting. With an emphasis on the distinctive characteristics of the large wind and percussion ensemble, the Symphonic Band’s repertoire is culled from the rich resources of the wind band tradition.

Tickets are Adults $5; Students/Seniors 3. This performance will also be live webcast. Visit music.unl.edu the night of the performance for the direct link.
