UNL Faculty Jazz Ensemble to world premiere two pieces in April

LINCOLN, Neb.— The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Faculty Jazz Ensemble will present its spring concert in Westbrook Recital Hall on Tuesday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m. The performance is free and open to the public.

On the program will be world premieres of two works, “A/2017 U1” by DMA Jazz Studies student Susumu Watanabe, and “Pulse” by Tom Larson, as well as “Broken Frog” by DMA Jazz Studies student Andrew Janak. The program will also feature MM Percussion student Louis Raymond-Kolker on steel pan, Andrew Janak on saxophone, and DMA percussion student Mike Roe. Members of the group are Peter Bouffard, guitar; Paul Haar, saxophones; Dave Hall, drums; Tom Larson, piano; Greg Simon, trumpet; Hans Sturm, bass; and Darryl White, trumpet.
